To continue with our MMO news theme of the day, Ubisoft has announced that you can now play Shadowbane for free. Thats right gratis, and that so fits with one of our mottos: if its free, its for me. Now I can't claim that the game is good/bad or whatever, but here is your chance to try it out.

Hmmm, right now it appears as though you must subscirbe to UBISOFT in order to play for 'free'...perhaps free isn't QUITE right...for us slackers that refuse to 'subscribe' to yet another website...(sigh)...guess I have to wait to be a zombie...

So "subscribe" in this context means register with Ubisoft, but not pay them any money. They require a registration for account management, and I am sorry but you will have to "subscribe" when you want to be a zombie too...

Right..i have a free UBIsoft account but you couldn't (or I couldn't at 11 pm last night) get past the download without pause if you click here here here here here here anywhere to sign up for your paid subscription screen bummer dude....

I have to be ubisoft to be a zombie?? that reminds me of what the catfish said when it ran into a wall....DAM!

My implication was that no matter what company you sign up with - you will have to "subscribe". I am sure Ubisoft is being overwhelmed by folks looking to play for free. Give it a day or so and things should even out...
