Get Hooked All Over Again: Crackdown Downloadble Content

If you're like me, then you played the heck outta Crackdown, but its been sitting on the shelf for awhile now. Well, have no fear, Realtime World just announced a load of info about the forthcoming DLC packs for Crackdown. Yes, packs. One is free, the other will cost you some $$.

After viewing the info, I can say I am stoked about both packs and I'll definitely be picking them up. All the stuff looks just plain cool, and I'm looking forward to killing bad guys again. Hopefully, this time Tim will actually get to play. Which points out another cool thing of the paid content, the ability to play it with someone who doesn't have it. As they say, the first hit is free.

If you guys need help finishing things up. I'm an Master Agent. ;-)

OK, seriously, there are a few achievements I still need to get. Oddly enough, I still have not completed "car juggling" which seems to be easy to get. It is apparently eluding me.

OK after looking at you guys achievements, JP is actually ahead of me. LOL

Guess I need to play some Crackdown. ;-)

Graw 2 is taking up Campos and my time. The multiplayer acheivements for Graw 2 are quite challenging. If you guys can rent Graw 2 it can handle up to 4 players. Might be fun?

The GfW guys just dissed all over the downloadable extras for this game because they said that the 'free patch' only really adds the ability for them to sell you a ton of fee-based downloadable content. Their comment was quite harsh - stating that it turns a great game into a the equivalent of "Homer Simpson in Itchy & Scratchy Land" due to all the spots that now require you to pay for downloadable content.

You did say GfW guys? These are PC gamers right? So how exactly are they playing Crackdown? The free content deliverable is just that limited features for free and a much larger content pack available for pay. Being that they even released single player content for free says something since most of the other fee based content is questionable. I would also point out that this stuff would only apply to real fanboys who wish to extend the life the of the game. I felt the $10 bucks for the harpoon gun and the new features was worth my money, but again the decision to purchase extra content or features is a personal one.
