Nice News Stealing G-News

Monkey Shoot You!

It seems that the 'fine' people over at G-News have nothing better to do than to repost the news we post here at Gaming Signal. Seriously. Look at the posts there, then look here.

Obviously, they have an a widget that scrapes our RSS feed then posts it to their 'blog'. I wouldn't be too upset about it, but they don't tell anyone this is what they are doing, and they have a copyright notice at the bottom of the page implying they are the ones posting the articles.

Not so! If you're reading this from G-News, they just scraped it from our RSS feed. I'd have a nice pic for you all to look at, but I'm at work right now and can't get to the good stuff.

So, if you want to steal our stuff, fine, but give us the attribution. Otherwise, write your own articles.

ROFL!!!! Go look at their site now. This post just made it to their homepage!

What dumbasses! They clearly are not even checking the BOTs work.

What a bunch of a-holes! Do we need to start every one of our articles with the bold tag line: "G-News are a bunch of lying thieving bastages..."?

It looks like they have nothing but ads so they're just using our news to generate traffic -- is there any way to poison it so their advertisers will dump them?

G-News removed my comment on their site already. So they know we know that they know we know. Ya know? :-S

The guy did in fact delete this post from his blog. Interesting...

Now that's just funny, but they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The guy changed his site to get feeds from some other sources - although he's still not attributing them properly. He also deleted the content he took from here.

I know suspect this person was just trying to fill out his site with content and got the feed for us to do that - not that he intended to mislead anybody but it ended up that way because of the lack of attribution. We do show up on Google's RSS feeds pretty high up because we added ourselves early on.

Looks like http://www.weplayxbox.com is his new source...at least for one post.
